Voluntary Data Collection from LMOP Partners

LMOP ICR Approval
  • OMB Control No. 2060-0446
  • EPA ICR No. 1849.09
  • Expiration: 6/30/2025

LMOP Partners involved in landfills or landfill gas (LFG) energy projects agree to voluntarily provide data to LMOP each year. LMOP uses the information collected from Partners to populate its Landfill and LFG Energy Project Database. By participating in LMOP Partner Reporting, Partners are helping to improve the quality and completeness of LMOP’s data, a key resource for the U.S. LFG industry and one of the inputs for the U.S. GHG Inventory. LMOP publishes information about LFG energy projects on its website to demonstrate Partners’ contributions to reducing methane emissions and generating renewable energy.

Reporting Timeline

LMOP Partner reporting will occur in the Fall (generally October to December) each year. Partners will have at least one month to complete their review of projects. The specific reporting timeline for each year will be communicated to applicable Partners via email in the weeks before reporting is scheduled to begin.

Reporting System

Annual LMOP Partner Reporting is completed through the Electronic Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool (e-GGRT).

For Landfills Required to Report under the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program Subpart HH

LMOP Partner Reporting is a voluntary data collection from LMOP Partners and is different from annual Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) Subpart HH reporting, although both take place within e-GGRT. LMOP Partners who report to GHGRP Subpart HH will not see the LMOP reporting with their GHGRP listings, rather it is in a separate LMOP module accessed upon logging into e-GGRT. For those landfills that report to both LMOP and GHGRP Subpart HH, LMOP will continue to implement procedures to avoid any duplication of reported data.

Data Collection Authority

LMOP has an approved Information Collection Request under which it requests information from its Partners. All Partners are encouraged to respond to our request and report data to LMOP.

This collection of information is approved by OMB under the Paperwork Reduction Act, 44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq. (OMB Control No. 2060-0446). Responses to this collection of information are voluntary (42 USC 7403(g)). An agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to, a collection of information unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number. The public reporting and recordkeeping burden for this collection of information is estimated to be 1.5 to 2 hours per response. Send comments on the Agency’s need for this information, the accuracy of the provided burden estimates and any suggested methods for minimizing respondent burden to the Regulatory Support Division Director, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (2821T), 1200 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. 20460. Include the OMB control number in any correspondence. Do not send the completed form to this address.
